I have been commissioned by Cecilia Castagneto to compose a piece to be premiered in Düsseldorf in the frame of her project Frauen im Licht, 8 December at the Forum Stadtsparkasse.

Writing Diese seltenen Momente der Ruhe, for flute, bass clarinet, percussion (1 player), violin and cello, has been a wonderful and exciting experience. The piece is an exploration of timbre from the creation of particular states of energy, in which all the instruments built a unique entity together. Therefore, active states of movement and dynamic gestures contrast with more static moments that seem unreal, like rare moments of quietness.

The concert will also screen short biofilms on each of the composers made by charakterfilm (Julia Charakter and Jonas Eckert). The music will be performed by Ensemble Lux (Gema Corrales, Jan Bennefeld, Alexander Maczewski, Oleguer Beltran, and Ghislain Portier). Conduction: Cecilia Castagneto.
